Hannah Rowe (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Professor in the Micro Department.   After growing up in North Carolina, she has moved gradually westward across the US, spending nearly 10 years in Michigan for undergrad and grad school (learned to hate snow), 5 years in Tennessee for postdoc (remembered how bad humidity and mosquitoes are) and has been in Oregon since fall 2020.  Her lab’s research interests are in the interactions between viruses, pathogenic bacteria, and normal flora of the upper respiratory tract and the impact on severity and transmission of respiratory diseases.  Outside of the lab, Hannah enjoys discovering new recipes with farmer’s market produce, going for walks with her rescue dog Suzy, and listening to podcasts.
