Caroline Hernández is a PhD student and ARCS Foundation Scholar in the David Laboratory. Her research investigates gut-brain axis signaling mechanisms and the role of commensal microbiota in modulating host cognition and behavior through enteroendocrine cell-vagal nerve interactions. She grew up in the Chicagoland area and when she's not in the lab enjoys backpacking, climbing, painting, and playing board games.
